Powered by Steam: The story behind the Thermal Compliance Logo

Founded in March 2007, Thermal Compliance began its journey to provide validation services tailored to the life science industry, with a strong emphasis on the qualification of steam sterilization processes.

Our logo, featuring a distinctive tick above the word "thermal," has remained unchanged since the company's inception. However, this tick symbolizes more than just compliance—it reflects a critical phase in porous load autoclave cycles. Specifically, it represents the chamber’s transition into the heat-up phase and the onset of equilibration. The animation below illustrates the inspiration behind our logo.

Why is the Autoclave's Heat-Up and Equilibration phase so critical?

In Europe, the initial stage of a porous load cycle is known as the "air removal" phase, where the primary goal is to eliminate as much air from the chamber as possible through a series of vacuum pulses. This step is crucial for ensuring the effectiveness of the sterilization process.

Equilibration time serves as a key metric for detecting any residual air within the autoclave load. It identifies the worst-case locations within the load, ensuring that these areas receive adequate steam penetration. The main objective of the cycle is to achieve rapid and even steam distribution throughout the load, making the speed of the heat-up phase a critical factor in the overall process.

Our logo embodies this essential step, highlighting our commitment to thorough and precise validation in steam sterilization processes.
