3-day Advanced Autoclave Validation Course

Gain in-depth knowledge of autoclave validation and cycle design for both porous and fluid loads. This advanced three-day course covers critical control parameters, steam quality testing, biological indicators, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure effective sterilisation. Participants will learn how to design, execute, and interpret validation studies in compliance with GMP and standards such as EN285. How many people attend each course?

We deliberately limit our in-house training courses to small groups to maximise learning and encourage discussion.

  • Public (in-house) courses are typically limited to 6-8 delegates. This ensures you have direct access to the trainer, the opportunity to ask questions specific to your site and to work through practical examples and demonstrations.
  • On-site team courses can be scaled to suit your facility and requirements. While we can accommodate larger groups, we recommend keeping class sizes manageable (ideally up to 16) to maintain interaction and engagement.
  • Online sessions (for our GMP Temperature Mapping and Introduction to Autoclaves courses) are also capped at a small number of delegates, ensuring the same focused experience as in-person training.


Keeping delegate numbers low means our courses remain highly interactive, discussion led and give participants the confidence to apply what they learn back at their site.

Do you provide course materials or certificates?

All delegates receive a certificate of completion for every Thermal Compliance training course. Course Materials are provided where appropriate to support learning.

Who delivers the training?

All courses are delivered by Chris Maughan, Founder of Thermal Compliance. With over 20 years’ experience in validation, compliance, consultancy, and training, Chris is a recognised expert in temperature mapping and moist heat sterilization. He actively contributes to industry standards and best practices within GMP-regulated environments.

How much do your training courses cost?

Our training course fees typically range from £750 per person for one-day courses to £1,850 for three-day courses.  We provide preferential rates for private group bookings and bespoke training tailored to your team's needs.  Please contact us for a personalised quote and to discuss your specific requirements.
